SRINAGAR: Police on Monday arrested the chairman of Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) Muhammad Yasin Malik and party’s zonal president Noor Muhammad Kalwal and took them to police station Kothi Bagh, a JKLF spokesperson said on Monday.
In a statement, the spokesperson said police on Monday early morning cordoned the residence of JKLF chairman Muhammad Yasin Malik and arrested him. “Noor Muhammad Kalwal went to see him at police station Kothi Bagh and he also was arrested,” he said.
Strongly condemning these arrests, the spokesperson said, “Jammu Kashmir has been turned into a police state where to stop any protest or political activity, leaders are arrested and incarcerated.”
