SRINAGAR: The resistance camp on Monday blamed Indian authorities for the unabated bloodshed in Kashmir, saying New Delhi has no option but to resolve Kashmir. It also paid tributes to militants killed in an encounter at Hakura, Anantnag Monday morning.
In a statement, Chairman Hurriyat Conference Syed Ali Geelani blamed Indian authorities saying their “insensitivity” and “unconcern” is the sole reason for this unabated bloodshed.
“Instead of taking measures to resolve the long pending issue in its historical perspective, Indian authorities want to thrust their choice through barrel of gun,” Geelani said in a statement.
Hurriyat chairman said that prevailing uncertainty in state and “unrealistic” approach of authorities is the basic cause of human tragedy.
Blaming pro-India politicians for the prevailing bloodshed in state, Geelani said since past seven decades, these “turncoats are deceiving nation” on one pretext or the other. “Their politics is based on deceit and illustrates their chameleon type character that instead of following the right mission of freedom, they for the lust of power coined different slogans to meet their material ends,” he said.
He also lashed out at finance minister Haseeb Drabu for his statement that “Kashmir was not a political issue”, saying, “These turncoats for securing favours from their masters, are issuing ridiculous and senseless statements. They in a bid to gain favours of their masters and under well thought out plan have been assigned a mission to dilute Kashmir issue. Whenever Kashmir issue comes into limelight, these traitors come to rescue of their masters.”
Geelani said PDP has brought shame for itself and said that “despite humiliation and disregard by New Delhi, these turncoats continue to bow their heads and obey their directives without heeding to their conscience”.
“They have been assigned with a mission to distort historical facts about Kashmir issue and their shameless attitude and behaviour illustrates their slave mentality,” Geelani said.
Mirwaiz Umar Farooq-led Hurriyat Conference in a statement said the priceless sacrifices of Kashmiri youth will always be safeguarded.
“How long will we the people of Kashmir be shouldering the coffins of our loved ones as the fact remains that it is the policy of extreme repression and suppression by New Delhi which is pushing the young and educate youth to pick up arms as a means of resistance to it,” a spokesperson of the conglomerate said.
He said it is because of the lingering Kashmir dispute that the region is witnessing unending bloodbath everywhere. He said Kashmir dispute has to be addressed and resolved in its historical context either on the basis of right to self determination or through tripartite dialogue with the active involvement of all the stakeholders including Kashmiri people, who are the basic stakeholders of the dispute. He said delaying the issue would lead to more bloodbath in the region and nothingness else.
The spokesperson said that international community cannot forgo it responsibly to mitigate the sufferings of people of Kashmir and has to play its role to impress upon the Government of India (GoI) to engage with Pakistan and people of Kashmir for a sustained dialogue between them so that peace prevails in the south Asian region.
Chairman Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) Muhammad Yasin Malik in a statement paid tributes to slain militants and said, “Indian rulers and their stooges first choked every space on peaceful protest and activities and hence pushed these budding flowers to the wall. Now, they have engaged thousands of terrorist in uniform to kill these young Kashmiris with impunity.”
Chairperson Dukhtaran-e-Millat (DeM) Syeda Aasiya Andrabi in her tributes to slain militants said, “These boys knew how brutally India is oppressing people of Kashmir and after giving it much thought and not bothering about their degrees and careers joined the pious struggle to free JK from the brutal and Indian occupation.”
“Joining of these well-educated youngsters (two were engineers) the mujahideen ranks and sacrificing their lives for the cause also punctures the false claims of Indian propagandists who claim that Kashmiri youth want employment and other perks from India and are ready to ‘stay with India’,” she said in a statement.
In a statement, Jammu Kashmir National Front termed the spurt in the “martyrdoms of brave hearts” as unfortunate. “Day to day martyrdoms of brave-hearts is disheartening as the activities of anti-movement elements have increased.”
