Baramulla: A nongovernmental organization in collaboration with Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences (IMHNS) Srinagar organized a psychiatric camp at village Duslipora in Singpora Pattan in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
The psychiatric camp, first of its kind here witnessed a huge rush of patients.
An official said that three doctors from the institute provided free consultation and treatment to the patients and around 60 patients were screened and free medicine was provided to the patients.
The camp covered three villages -Duslipora, Darinara and Yakhwanpora villages.
“The camp was aimed to provide counseling and treatment to the patients with mental ailments. We organized the camp for the psychiatric consultation of already identified patients of various psycho somatic manifestations through various awareness programmes. The patients included OSD, MDE, and PTSD cases,” said Sameer Ahmed President ACT Together.
“These patients don’t access various health centers due to various socio-economic reasons,”he added.
The ‘Act Together’ NGO works in the areas of mental health and organises awareness workshops on mental health, screening of patients for counseling and psychiatric consultation.
