BARAMULLA: District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) Baramulla Saturdayorganized a day-long disaster preparedness programme here at Dak Bungalow.
The programme which saw the participation of 50 Physical education teachers and other volunteers of the district was organized with the aim to build the capacity among volunteers and to prepare them in cases of eventuality.
Various speakers highlighted the role of civil defence in bringing about the disaster preparedness and responsiveness towards a disaster. The need for training basic techniques which will be useful for all emergency purposes was discussed threadbare by all speakers.
The gathering was given a thorough training about the first aid and measures to help a victim during the emergency. The basic information regarding various emergencies like earthquakes, fire and other kinds of calamities was provided by personnel of SDRF and civil defence.
Among others, Tehsildar Headquarters Irfan Bahudur, Tehsildar Baramulla Maeen Kakroo, NYK co-coordinator Hakeem Ab.Aziz and various other concerned were present on the occasion.
