Fifth day of shutdown in Shopian against killings

Srinagar: A complete shutdown in being observed in south Kashmir’s Shopian district on straight fifth Friday against the killings of four civilians at the hands of Army soldiers in a shootout with militants at Pahnoo village last Sunday (March 4).
Suhail Ahmad Wagay son Khalid Ahmad Wagay of Pinjora, Shahid Khan son of Bashir Ahmad Khan of Malik Gund, Shahnawaz Wagay son of Ali Mohammad of Langandora Trenze, and Gowhar Ahmad Mir of Molu Dangerpora, were killed in army action at Pahnoo village of Shopian.
Two militants Amir Ahmed Malik of Harmain and Ashiq Ahmad of Rakpora, were also killed in the action.
The locals of Pahnoo and adjoining Pinjura are demanding removal of the Army camp which was established during 2016 uprising.
All shops and business establishments are closed in the district while as public transport is off the roads, local sources said.
