Gund: The residents of Tehsil Gund area of central Kashmir’s Ganderbal District requested the authorities of Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) to provide landline connectivity to their locality.
Residents of the area have urged the BSNL authorities to provide BSNL landline and broadband connectivity in the area as it is deprived of any sort of connectivity.
“In the age when we are moving towards Digital India, the tehsil have been deprived of basic landline and broadband facilities. We urge the BSNL authorities to immediately lay the cable so as to provide connectivity to our locality,”said Tariq Ahmad Sheikh, a resident.
They allege that absence of BSNL broadband service in their locality is forcing them to move over to private service providers “So, we are dependent on expensive dongles,” he said.
According to the locals, the matter was raised with the concerned repeatedly and the concerned official’s visited the area from time to time but could do nothing.
The residents said that they approach several politicians and bureaucrats for BSNL landline connection, but they got nothing except assurances and promises. The residents urged the general manager, BSNL, Divisional Commissioner Kashmir to personally look into the issue and help redress their genuine demand.
