SRINAGAR: Traffic police on Tuesday launched a drive against the traffic rule violators in Srinagar city.
The special drive was launched against the traffic violators to check the menace of traffic violations in the Srinagar city, a traffic police official said.
Talking to Kashmir Reader, SP Traffic Srinagar City, Tahir Saleem said, “Such drives will continue in future as well and advised the transporters and private vehicle owners should fallow traffic rules strictly. Any violation will be dealt strictly as per the law.”
He further said that public cooperation is equally important in adherence to traffic rules for the smooth regulation of traffic in the Srinagar city.
A large number of auto rickshaws, local cabs and private vehicles who were found violating the traffic rules have been ceased by police, according to the traffic police officials.
Auto rickshaws who were ferrying passengers without the fare meters and uniforms were fined by traffic police officials. Around 100 two-wheelers who were found without the valid documents have been ceased by traffic police, traffic police officials added.
