Revival of old traditional route of Vaishnodevi to boost tourism

JAMMU: Series of programmes and initiatives have been lined up by PHDCCI and Hotel & Restaurant Association, Katra for the revival of tourism in the state said President Hotel & Restaurant Association, Katra and Co-Chairman PHD Chamber of Commerce & Industry Jammu region Rakesh Wazir here on Tuesday.
He said this after making a tour of old traditional route of Vaishnodevi, whose revival construction work is going on in full swing, an official handout read.
Within few months, the distance between Katra and Akhnoor/Mathwar and other areas will get reduced by more than 42 kms and tourist places like Mathwar, Ambaran, Showa Mata, Jio Potta, Deva Mai and old traditional route of Vaishnodevi will get a major boost and revival after its completion, read the handout.
He asked the government that the other pending projects like Katra Heritage through which the upgradation of the heritage places enroute old traditional route of Katra be done at the earliest.
