GANDERBAL: The District Development Commissioner (DDC) Ganderbal, Piyush Singla on Tuesday inaugurated a mega job fair organised by District Employment and Counselling Centre, Ganderbal under National Career Service Programme of Union Ministry of Labour and Employment.
According to an official handout, the DDC after inaugurating the event inspected various stalls set up by private companies and line departments. He visited the stalls and inquired about the schemes being provided by the line departments for unemployed youth of the district.
Speaking on the occasion, DDC accentuated that educated youth should come forward and take benefits of the schemes and programmes. He urged the stakeholders for full cooperation to make the event successful in the larger interest of the unemployed youth of the district.
During the job fair, 325 registrations of unemployed educated youth were done out of which 106 registrations were made by representatives of private organisations for placements. Moreover, 219 registrations were done by government departments under various self-employment schemes, the handout further read.
