Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti strongly condemned the firing incident at Pahnoo in south Kashmir’s Shopian district in which four civilians killed and described the incident as “highly painful”.
Taking to micro blogging she expressed “deep distress by more deaths of civilians caught in the crossfire in Shopian”. “My heartfelt condolences to the deceased’s families.” she said.
She urged upon the forces to exercise maximum restraint while dealing with the protestors, as the restraint by them will “help contribute to peace and tranquility.”
While offering deepest condolences to bereaved family, she appealed youth to “maintain peace”.
