Shopian Killings: Clashes erupt in south Kashmir areas, valley shuts

Srinagar: A complete shutdown is being observed in the Kashmir valley to protest against the killings of four civilians and a militant in south Kashmir’s Shopian district late last evening. One more dead body of a militant was recovered in the district on Monday.
The shutdown call had been given by the joint resistance leadership.
As per reports received from different parts of south Kashmir protests and clashes erupted in Tral, Awantipora, Pulwama and Shopian areas.
Reports of clashes have also reached from Anantnag and Pampore areas.
Some protesting students were detained in Anantnag, sources said however the situation was normal in the town.
