Army open fire to disperse mourners in Shopian, Amir laid to rest

Srinagar: Army soldiers opened fire in air to disperse thousands of mourners in Harman village of south Kashmir’s Shopian district on Monday. However, no one was hurt.
LeT militant, Amir Ahmed Malik was killed in a brief shootout at Pahnoo village of Shopian district late last evening.
Four civilians were also killed in the shootout however army claimed that they were OGWs of militants.
Thousands of people attended Amir’s funeral prayers at his ancestral village before he was laid to rest, local sources told Kashmir Reader.
Amir, according to sources was doing his masters in History at Kashmir University when he went missing and joined militant ranks some eight months back.
