Jammu Srinagar highway opens for one-way traffic

Srinagar: The Jammu Srinagar highway was re-opened for one-way traffic on Sunday after being closed due to snowfall, rain and subsequent landslides at many places.

After the weather improved, men working to clear the road and machines were pressed into service and landslides between Banihal and Ramban were cleared, an official of a traffic department said.

The traffic is alternatively plying between Srinagar and Jammu to avoid traffic mess, The official said.
