Baramulla: Four persons survived miraculously on Saturday after a high voltage live power line fell on their car in Pattan Baramulla.
Eyewitnesses said that they jumped out of the car and was power supply was disconnected after PDD officials were informed.
Soon after the incident, transporters and shopkeepers protested against the Power development department for their callous approach.
Protesters said that PDD has installed two separate pairs of HT lines for two opposite localities on a single damaged pole, one leads towards Nihalpora and other towards the Pattan area.
“These loosely fit HT lines often fall either on vehicles or on road, thus posing a risk of bigger tragedy,” protestors said.
They requested SDM Pattan to direct PDD officials to separate these HT lines on two different poles from the single pole and fix the electric wire system in the area.
