Bandipora: Students of 12th class and private class 10 candidates in Gurez are complaining of inadequate arrangements at examinations centres in the wake of fresh snowfall in the area.
The snowfall has brought life to a standstill in the area with some roads also getting closed.
The students taking examinations from February 28 complained of inaccessibility to venues, besides chill at examination centres.
“Inefficient arrangements have been made for our examinations. Because of the snowfall many students are even unable to reach the centres. The administration has hurried our exams despite knowing the difficulties snow has brought,” students said.
However, Deputy Commissioner Bandipora told Kashmir Reader that proper arrangements have been made for the smooth conduct of exams.
“The examination material was airlifted to Gurez, and staff too was dispatched by an Air Force aircraft, while as for the students stranded outside Gurez arrangements for the exam have been made in Bandipora.”
A much welcome bout of fresh snowfall has brought life to a standstill as roads remain blocked in Gurez, some 88 kilometres from District Bandipora.
The snowfall, according to locals, has brought hopes for a good agricultural produce which otherwise seemed difficult.
