Srinagar: Traffic was restored on the 300-km-long Srinagar-Jammu highway, after remaining closed for several hours due to landslides and shooting stones, triggered by rain, at several places on Friday.
“Traffic was restored on the highway at around 1300 hrs after remaining suspended since this morning following landslides and shooting stones at several place,” a traffic police official told UNI.
He said traffic on the Srinagar-Jammu highway was suspended this morning following landslides and shooting stones at several place, including Digdol.
However, the Border Roads Organisation (BRO), responsible for the maintenance of the highway, immediately pressed into service sophisticated machines and men to put through the traffic.
