PULWAMA: Clashes erupted between government forces and youths soon after a cordon and search operation (CASO) began at Chandgam village of Pulwama district on Thursday evening. Local sources told Kashmir Reader that government forces restored to teargas shelling to disperse the protesters.
Police said that the CASO was launched follwing “inputs of presence of militants in the village”.
SSP Pulwama Mohammad Asalam Choudhry told Kashmir Reader that “minor clashes” took place during the operation.
The CASO was launched by a joint team of army, CRPF and special operation group of police. Locals said that scores of youths pelted the government troops with stones.
