PAMPORE: Central Sericulture Research and Training Institute organised a 15 days Swachhta Pakwada awareness programme on Thursday at Central Sericulture Research and Training Institute, Galander Pampore area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
The workshop was attended by all the senior officers and staff members. The participants shared their perspective for making surroundings and buildings clean and green by adopting innovative measures.
The theme of the Swachhta Pakhwada was to spread Swachhta awareness and its implementation across the country with a focus on role of people for the process of sanitation initiatives.
Director Sericulture North India M.K. Ghosh was the chief guest on the occasion. While interacting with the guests and participants, he directed them to make the sanitation process not only in their houses but the society too must become hygienic, in order to create safe, healthy, clean and green environment.
He further said that every responsible person need to go ahead in
this cleanliness process step by step to take it into the nook and corner of the country especially in rural areas.
Ghost directed the officials of his department to make banners of ‘Swachhta Pakwada’ and fix them in all the awareness programmes to come. “It is an immediate need to aware people as far as the cleanliness is concerned,” he said.
During the programme a competition was also held at the end of the programme in which the best performers in different categories were appreciated and rewarded.
