Two sitting CMO’s powerless to draw them salary

Bandipora: The medical and paramedical staff on Wednesday locked the Block Medical Officer’s office here in North Kashmir’s Bandipora against pending salaries from last three months.

The staff of the hospital protested against the administrative setup which has rendered them penniless, affecting the work and setup of the hospital.

The staff were demanding immediate issuance of salary in their favour which has been blocked due to mismanagement in the Chief Medical Officers office.

As per the sources, the issue is pending for the higher authorities as the sitting CMO has been left without powers to disburse the official orders. According to the officials, the attached CMO has re-joined by High court orders after staying her case from the hospital equipment fraud. Now the two CMO’S are holding one chair but without any powers to execute any work.

BMO Syed Rehman informed Kashmir Reader that “Dr Chalkoo who is attached to the additional post of CMO Bandipora has been left powerless, as the government and treasury are not accepting his official signatures, thus rendering the staff without salary for three months.” He added that everything has been corresponded with Directorate Health which will hopefully find remedies soon.
