Srinagar: Police on Wednesday said that certain sections of media mostly on cyber platforms are carrying news related to Hajan in a manner which is not correct. “Such malicious campaign indicates designs of mischief mongers to exploit the situation,” a police statement said. Police statement added “general Public is requested not to pay heed to such rumours.”
Pertinently, situation remained tense in north Kashmir’s Hajin today, as locals woke up to the allegedly dismantled grave of a non local militant buried there yesterday.
The dead body of Abu Haris had been handed over to locals by his associates for burial, after he succumbed to his injuries on Tuesday. Haris had escaped the cordon on Monday after being hit with two bullets.
The locals are suspecting the body of Haris has been taken away in the dead of the night. However, SSP Bandipora, Sheikh Zulfikar Azad told Kashmir Reader that “everything is cool and calm” in Hajin. “The rumours about the body are nothing but mere speculation,” SSP added.
Meanwhile shutdown continued in Hajin for the second consecutive day to mourn the killing of Haris. The authorities have snapped the internet services in the northern district Bandipora.
