Rescue operations on to locate men buried in avalanche

Kupwara: Rescue operations to find the three men buried under an avalanche in Lolab resumed this morning, but have no been able to find any traces of the men so far.
The three men were buried under an avalanche in Lolab forests three days ago.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Kupwara Shamshar Hussain told Kashmir Reader that police, SDRF and other teams along with local people are searching the spot,
“We are yet to trace anybody from the avalanche debris, however we are working and hope we will trace them very soon,” SSP said.
Altaf Ahmad Mir son of Bashir Ahmad Mir, Bashir Ahmad Ganie son of Ghulam Rasool Ganie and Ghulam Mohd Lone son of Ali Muhammad Lone all residents of Warnow Lolab valley of Kupwara district are missing from past three days after they came under an avalanche in the Lolab forests.
An official statement said that Deputy Commissioner Kupwara Khalid Jehangir, personally monitored the operation along with SDM, Tehsildar and BMO at Warnow today.
Lashikote Forest has been made base camp for the rescue operation and Army has also provided sniffer dogs to the rescue teams.
A parallel rescue mission has been launched from Bandipora by deputy commissioner Bandipora with a team of army from 27 RR.
