PAMPORE: Following the report by the Kashmir Reader newspaper regarding the construction of a road through the premises of a school in Lethpora Pampore, Education and Revenue departments on Mondayswung into action and stopped the construction.
A team of officials led by Chief Education Officer Pulwama, including Tehsildar Pampore and other officials visited the spot and stopped the construction.
Chief Education Officer Pulwama, Mushtaq Ahmad Salroo told Kashmir Reader that as per the reports of the concerned Tehsildar land has not been demarcated for the school after the higher secondary school was established at the site in 2005.
“I will check the papers in my wing regarding the land granted for the school construction in 2005,” he said, adding that it was after the Principal Higher Secondary School Lethpora Nisar Ahmad Zargar informed me about the encroachment of land by some villagers I talked to ADC Pulwama and requested him to take up the issue with the Tehsildar Pampore.
He thanked the revenue department for their cooperation and told Kashmir Reader that administration took cognizance of the encroachment in the school.
Tehsildar Pampore Ali Mohammad told Kashmir Reader that the land falls under Kahcharai land and these people had made many violations which we have stopped on the spot.
“ Three villagers have tried encroachment on the land and I had no knowledge about it and the concerned Patwari told us on Monday morning only about this,” he said, adding that he once again warned people to stop grabbing of Kahcharai land and told them not to carry any activity on it.
He told that they have stopped the encroachment and would demarcate the land for the school soon.
