SRINAGAR: State Football Academy of State Sports Council Oragnised a two-day 7v7 U-12 Girls Football Tournament which was kicked off on Sunday at Synthetic Turf TRC Ground, Srinagar.
Around 12 teams of various schools are participating in this tournament which is played on knockout basis. During the first day eight matches were played in which Baramulla School, International School, Mallinson Girls School, and Bandipora made it to Semi-Finals.
On this occasion, Asian Football Confederation Technical Observer, Anya Palusevic of Germany and Assistant Manager of All India Football Federation, Sapna were the Chief Guests while as, Director Radio Kashmir Srinagar, Syed Himayun Kaiser, Joint Secretary Jammu and Kashmir State Sports Council (JKSSC), Nazir Ahmed, Divisional Sports Officer Kashmir, Nuzhat Ara, Senior Member of JKSSC, Professor Bashir Ahmad, Technical Director of SFA, Sajid Yousuf Dar, General Secretary JKFA, SA Hameed, District President JKFA, Fayaz Ahmad Sofi were the Guests of Honours.
The event was also graced by the presence of other members and coaches of SFA and JKFA.
Joint SecretarySports Council Nazir Ahmad hailed the initiative taken by SFA for holding such tournament.
“With such tournaments it will boost girls to play football besides it will help for the development of football at grassroots level,” he said.
Moreover, the qualified teams will face each other in Semis which will likely be held on Mondayat the same venue.
Moreover, the tournament is organized by State Football Academy of Jammu and Kashmir State Sports Council under the aegis of Jammu and Kashmir Football Association.
