JAMMU: All J&K Passengers’ Welfare Association on Sunday lauded the performance of Basant Rath IG Traffic for providing relief and improvement in traffic movement.
“Association showers all praises on him who really emerged as exemplary and befitting officer to have all credit for the removal of traffic chaos,” President of All J&K Passengers’ Welfare Association RC Sharma said in a statement.
In a press statement, Sharma said that traffic position since years had gone bad to worse with each passing day and traffic department was at receiving end for traffic jams and other traffic-related irregularities in Jammu.
He further said that Rath had already worked in different capacities in Jammu and transporters including minibus operators have already acquainted with his style of working and performance.
“On the very first day of his appointment as IG Traffic, twenty-five percent traffic mess has got improved before he put his foot on Jammu roads.
He urged the Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti not to transfer Rath as IG Traffic before completion of two years tenure as there are some wicked politicians who are hell-bent to get him transferred due to their vested interest.
