JAMMU: Secretary Education Farooq Ahmad Shah has said that good and proper education plays a great role in shaping our future and every individual and society was duty bound to make their effort in promoting the atmosphere of better education.
He expressed these views during the conduct of “Young Brains interschool health quiz competition” held at Teacher’s Bhawan Jammu.
He said,” We cannot ignore the importance of education in our life at any cost,” adding that education was the key to solve all the social, personal and professional problems of the people.
“Education helps us to be healthy, save lives, boost economic growth, earn money, promote peace in the society, promote human rights, bring good governance, remove corruption and make people aware about their fundamental rights,” Shah said.
He said good education does not mean to study hard and get results; but to conquer new things for the betterment of whole mankind. “Jammu and Kashmir has played a tremendous role in upliftment of education sector,” he said.
The increasing number of schools and colleges especially, in Jammu stands testament to the promotion of quality education, he added. “Since the establishment of Mata Vaishno Devi University, Jammu, it has become the epicentre of quality education and the day is not far that J&K would be recognised as hub of world class education system.”
He said education centres should be the torch bearers for achieving the futuristic objective in the field of knowledge and it was the duty of such institutions that human resources should be utilised to their full potential in order to become the world class standard.
“Jammu is also prospering in the field of healthcare and medicine and we should promote it all over India as well as abroad so that the world knows that our healthcare system is no less to any other system,” he added.
He said that we could harness such facilities in creating medical tourism in the State of Jammu and Kashmir.
