UDHAMPUR: To mark the role of radio in social media, an intra-college symposium-cum-workshop was organised at Government Degree College Boys, Udhampur here on Tuesday.
In his address, Principal of the college, Prof S K Magotra said that radio could be used as a viable medium of knowledge by students. He also emphasised on the increasing popularity of radio in today’s world as a passive medium where students love listening to radio while doing their home work or assignments, an official handout read.
Programme resource person, Shwetima, a native of the town and known radio jockey at Radio Mirchi 98.3 Jammu, whose presence not only thrilled the audience but made sure that students get their complete package of knowledge by the radio.
She interacted with the students and shared her journey which was highly inspiring for students, encouraging them to persistently follow their dreams and aspirations, focus on their qualities and potential and most importantly believe in themselves.
Spokesperson Anamika Raina who is a copy-writer at Radio Mirchi 98.3 Jammu and also happens to be an alumnus of the college shared her experience and motivated students to “actively participate in all the college events”. 10 students from different departments took part in the event, it read.
