Clashes erupt during search operation in Kakpora

PULWAMA: Clashes erupted between local residents and government forces at Kakpora village in south Kashmir’s Pulwama after government forces launched a cordon and search operation at Narbal villages of Kakpora on Tuesday evening.
SSP Pulwama Mohammed Aslam Chaudhary said that search operation was launched by forces after received inputs about presence of militants in Narbal village. There were minor clashes in the village, he said.
Sources said that dozens youth of the village came out their houses and started pelting stones on forces. Forces resorted to teargas shelling and aerial firing, they said.
Search operation was going on in the village when this report was being filed.
