Youth association concerned over traffic jams in old city

Srinagar: Downtown coordination committee (DCC) on Monday called for streamlining of traffic in old city besides availability of other basic amenities in the area.

A spokesperson said that DCC has been formed the raise voice for the issues concerning the downtown.

“Old city area is being victimised and in this regard DCC is an initiative of the centre for youth development which has been instrumental with respect to various initiatives pertaining to the development of youth in particular and social development in general,” he said.

The Spokesperson also said that a delegation led by Imtiyaz Rashid Chashti along with Syed Mujahid, Tariq A Dhar, Omer Firous and Shafi Naqeeb called on additional SP Traffic Srinagar and raised the issue of traffic jam in the old city especially in Safakadal, Rajorikadal, Gojiwara and Hawal.

Additional SP Traffic Srinagar Muzafar assured the delegation that necessary step will be taken to streamline the traffic in the old city and sought support of the people in streamlining the traffic, spokesperson said.
