SRINAGAR: The Associated Chamber of Commerce and Industries-Kashmir (CCIK) has strongly condemned the rape and murder of a minor girl in Kathua.
In a statement, the CCIK said it was shocked to note that “some fanatic elements carried out a procession, with tri-colour flags in their hands, in support of the murderer, thereby showing it in a poor light”. “This act has sent shockwaves in the hearts and minds of the majority community which is in a minority in that area,” it said.
“The thundering silence maintained by New Delhi on such issues is not the answer. It could be construed as silent approval of the powers that be over there,” the CCIK said.
