SRINAGAR: Terming Syed Salahuddin as a “symbol of freedom struggle”, the United Jihad Council (UJC), a conglomerate of various militant outfits of Kashmir, on Monday said the news carried out by Delhi-based media is “baseless”.
“Indian media is making mockery of their organisations by spreading fake news against Syed Salahuddin,” a spokesperson of UJC in a statement to a local news agency KNS quoted the outfit’s secretary general, Sheikh Jameel-ur-Rehman as having said.
“Salahuddin is not only the chief of Hizb and UJC but a symbol of freedom struggle as well. Under his leadership, the freedom struggle is continuing and history stands testimony to the fact that all the tactics used by Indian occupation have failed.”
“The forces have failed to weaken the current ongoing movement while the militants despite less resource are on their way to achieve their goal,” Rehman said.
“Indian defence, its leadership and other organisations are using media to hide their failure,” the UJC secretary general added.
