JAMMU: Principal Secretary Finance, Navin Kumar Choudhary on Sunday visited Toll Post Lakhanpur to take stock of the facilities there.
He was accompanied by Deputy Commissioner Excise, Vishesh Mahajan.
Choudhary said that the Lakhanpur Toll Plaza is a gateway to Jammu and Kashmir and “it has to be developed as a unique greeting spot for the people visiting the state”, an official handout read.
He went around the toll plaza to personally take stock of the facilities on the spot. He ordered immediate restoration of various structures and facilities at the plaza for which he assured adequate funds. He announced release of Rs 30 lakh for restoration of the library and gym at the toll post.
The Principal Secretary Finance also called for outsourcing of the restaurant at the toll plaza so that it can be used by the commuters. He also ordered beautification of the Toll Plaza Complex.
Choudhary was informed that a computerised toll collection mechanism was already in place at the toll plaza which is being further augmented.
The Principal Secretary also interacted with the staff at the toll plaza and enquired about the facilities available to them, the handout added.
