Ganderbal: Daily wage workers of PDD Power Development Department held a strong protest in Ganderbal on Friday in support of their demands.
A large number of workers led by union leaders assembled in Eid Gah Ganderbal near DC office and protested.
The protesters accused the government of showing the indifferent attitude towards issues of the daily wagers of Kashmir and districts in particular.
The protestors demanded implementation of SRO 381 and asked govt to regularize all the genuine and deserving daily Wagers who have completed minimum 7 years of service in the PDD before implementation of SRO 520, particularly in Kashmir province.
While speaking on the occasion, Fayaz Ahmad District Union President PDD Ganderbal demanded that government should regularize daily wagers of Kashmir and Ganderbal districts under SRO 381 of 1981.
He said the authorities are least bothered about the problems faced by thousands of employees working in the department. “We do not accept this SRO- 520 and want the Government to consider the job policies that were devised by the earlier governments,” he said.
Fayaz also said that their wages are pending since last nine months.
