Srinagar: Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) chairman Mohammad Yasin Malik on Saturdaypaid rich tribute of Dr Farooq Ashaie, saying that he was the great son of the soil who sacrificed his life for the cause of freedom and became an immortal page in our history.
This was stated by the ailing chairman in a statement issued from hospital.
Malik said that doctor Ashaie was a great soul who throughout his life stood for the cause of freedom and justice. “He remained steadfast while fighting for the human rights of Kashmiris, and as a doctor always cared for his patients,” he said.
He said that the brutal way in which doctor was martyred by forces still remain a glaring proof of “Indian oppression” in Jammu Kashmir. “Kashmir’s struggle for freedom is adorned with the sacred blood of martyrs,” he said.
Meanwhile, a delegation of JKLF led by deputy organizer Siraj ud din Mir and comprising of district president Baramulla Abdul Rashid Magloo, Ghulam Qadir Khan ,Abdul Qayoom and others visited Seer Sopore where they participated in a congregational meeting held for the martyr Abdul Gani Wani and martyr Muhammad Akbar Najar, who were killed in 1992.
While paying tributes to these martyrs, JKLF leaders pledged to take forward their mission at every cost. Another JKLF activist Peer Abdul Rashid also addressed people at Budgam and paid tributes to martyrs.
JKLF strongly condemned the arrest of JKLF vice chairman Advocate Bashir Ahmad Butt and nocturnal raid on the house of another JKLF leader Javed Zargar. While condemning this police “highhandedness”, JKLF has termed it as worst “state sponsored terrorism.”
