Ensure justice, says Congress

SRINAGAR: Jammu Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) has decried attempts to give any religious or communal colour to the “worst ever shameful act” of rape and murder of an eight-year-old girl in Kathua recently and said that identification of real culprits should be the interest of all right thinking persons in the society.
The party demanded a fool proof probe into the “heartrending incident of worst kind” in order to bring the culprits to book and ensure justice to the victim, which should serve as a deterrent to inhuman elements of such a mentality in the society.
“Any religious or communal twist is totally unwarranted and condemnable if it is aimed at to derail the investigation and defeat the ends of justice. If such protests are attempt to save the accused culprits, then it is most unfortunate but surprisingly the protestors have sought a CBI enquiry to nab the real culprits, which makes the task of investigation agency more difficult,” party said. “It should doubly ensure that there is no element of suspicion or doubt on the efficiency and fairness of the entire process and should investigate all aspects of gruesome incident.”
JKPCC appealed to people to have faith in the institutions and share any valuable information with them to facilitate the investigation agency to get to the whole truth.
