Srinagar: A condolence meeting was held at Sandipora Budgam on Thursday by Hurriyat Conference. While addressing the meeting, chairman All Parties Hurriyat Conference Syed Ali Geelani said that Mohammad Yusuf Nadeem was a valiant son of the soil and an intellectual par excellence.
Nadeem was killed this week by unknown gunmen in Budgam.
Terming him as most humble and dedicated soul, a selfless human, an ideologue, a great freedom fighter, a great patriot, an intellectual and a symbol of struggle and sacrifices, Geelani in his telephonic address paid his tributes to slain leader.
Thousands of mourners attended the condolence meeting and paid their tributes to slain leader.
Geelani lashed out at “state sponsored agencies” and said that assassins are enjoying the backing and full support from their sponsors, saying that a territory which is occupied by seven lakh forces personnel, roaming with lethal weapons, can never be a safe place for people and leaders like Shaheed Nadeem.
He said that late Nadeem had a unique personality and left a void that will never be filled ever, and pledged that these “cowardly acts” won’t deter them from pursuing their mission, nor will these suppressive and aggressive measures make them surrender.
Praying for the departed soul, Geelani extended his condolences to bereaved family and prayed for their forbiddance to bear this irreparable loss.
