TRAL: Residents of Wuzul Kulnar village in sub division Tral have alleged that the snow clearance teams did not clear at least one and half kilometre stretch leading to the village leaving them disconnected.
The district administration has claimed that they cleared snow from all roads, but he villagers alleged that they were left out deliberately.
The residents alleged that the driver of the snow clearing machine did not clear the stretch because the stretch leads to Gujjar habitation.
“The driver’s behaviour was discriminatory and he should be asked to explain as why he did not move forward from Nagpathri,” said Nazir Ahmad, a resident of the village, adding that the village received about one feet snow.
He said that from the day it started snowing the students of the village were unable to go to tuitions.
“The road is still closed as it is covered with snow and if there is any contingency we cannot even hire a vehicle,” said another resident, adding that the concerned department owes an explanation to the people of the village.
Tehsildar Tral Mohammad Makbool told Kashmir Reader that they he would send a snow clearance machine to the village to clear the snow.
Meanwhile, residents of several Tral villages on Wednesday held a protest at Dhobiwan village against absence of water supply water for last three days.
Hundreds of residents including women of Dhobiwan and Monghama villages gathered at Dhobiwan chowk and blocked Tral- Satoora road for some time and raised slogans against PHE department for ignoring their sufferings, locals said.
Several villages also complained that they were suffering due to unavailability of power for last three days.
The village includes Syedabad, Pastuna, Wagad, Aripal, Dar Ganaie Gund and Hajan village.
