Srinagar: Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission (JKPSC) Wednesday postponed the two papers of Kashmir Administrative Service mains examination (KAS ) that were scheduled on February 15 and 17.
According to the official statement of the Commission the examination were postponed in the view of the blockage of Srinagar-Jammu national highway.
“It is hereby notified for the information of all the candidates that the Jammu & Kashmir Combined Competitive (Mains) Examination-2016 papers scheduled to be held on 15th and 17th February (General Studies -Paper I & II, General English and Essay in English) are hereby postponed,” a notification issued by JKPSC said.
However, the rest of the schedule remains unchanged, which means the examination will now commence from 19th February, 2018 on the dates and at venues already notified
“The next date of Examination in respect of (General studies Paper I and II, General English and Essay in Engilsh) shall be notified separately,” the notification adds
The full Commission of JKPSC in its meeting held Wednesday reviewed the arrangements made for conduct of J&K Combined Competitive (Mains) Examination-2016 and after detailed briefing by the Controller of Examinations, it was found that all arrangements are in place, a government statement said
Earlier (KAS) aspirants had accused Public Service Commission for putting them under tremendous stress by denying them enough time for sitting in the mains examination.
Yesterday Several KAS aspirants held a protest in Srinagar’s press enclave asking for mains examination to the deferred.
