SRINAGAR: Kashmir Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) has said that the chamber “has long been craving and pleading for the need of creating multi modal logistics park and transportation hub in the state”.
The chamber according to an official statement said it was the most essential element of logistics “required to enhance the scope for growth of state’s export-oriented business”.
“Such a facility could be expected to be the forerunner for huge exports and generator of large scale employment in the state,” Kashmir Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Javid Ahmad Tenga said in the statement.
Tenga hailed the state government, particularly Finance Minister, Haseeb A Drabu for signing a Memorandum of Understanding with Dubai Ports World to establish the multi modal logistics park and transportation hub in the state through foreign direct investment
Appreciating the blue print of the specialised facilities provided in the inland logistic hub (ilh) the president said it would “enhance the scope of accessibility and acceptability of our exportable products” like handicraft, horticulture, agriculture, floriculture or any other allied product, worldwide.
