Srinagar: Grave diggers at Martyrs Graveyard Gantamulla in Baramulla were waiting Wendesday night for the bodies of two militants, said to be non-local, killed in the gunfight at Karan Nagar Srinagar on Tuesday.
Police has been routinely sending bodies of non-local militants to the graveyard along the Srinagar-Muzafarabad road from some time.
Local residents said that graves have been kept ready as the bodies were scheduled to arrive any time in the night. Sources said, the bodies had reached a local police station, who may send the bodies “once it gets late enough”.
Earlier on Tuesday a non-local militant who was killed in a road mishap on Sunday in Sopore area of north Kashmir, was also buried in the graveyard.
The militant, whose identity could not be ascertained, was killed along with a local associate in Warpora Sopore on Sunday morning when they fell down from their motor cycle.
More than 60 non local militants have been buried in the graveyard in the last two years.
