SRINAGAR: Jammu Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party (JKDFP) on Tuesday said that resolving Kashmir dispute is the only way to stop the ongoing bloodshed in the region.
In a statement, DFP secretary general Moulana Mohammad Abdullah Tari urged upon India and the international community to take concrete steps for the resolution of Kashmir issue.
He expressed deep grief over the passing away of a young girl Saima Wani of Shopian who was injured in forces’ firing. “The heavy militarisation is taking toll on innocent Kashmiris. The recent civilian killings in Shopian have shaken the conscience of every justice loving person however Indian judiciary has come in rescue of its forces by staying the FIR against them who are already enjoying laws of impunity.”
Tari said that “Indian judiciary has already failed in delivering justice to JKDFP incarcerated chief Shabir Ahmad Shah languishing in Tihar jail in a fabricated case”.
Expressing deep concern over the border skirmishes between India and Pakistan and loss of human lives on both sides of the LoC and international border, Tari said, “The uncertainty and the confrontation between India and Pakistan so far has consumed numerous precious lives and destruction of worth millions of properties. If tangible steps are not taken on priority basis to resolve Kashmir dispute, there can be more destruction in South Asian region.”
Meanwhile, Moulana paid rich tribute to those killed in recent gunfights with government forces. “The brave hearts are sacrificing their lives in the way to achieve freedom so it is our collective responsibility to safeguard their great sacrifices.”
