Srinagar: A gunfight between militants and government forces started in Karan Nagar area of Srinagar on Monday, CRPF PRO Rajesh Yadav told Kashmir Reader.
He said that CRPF soldiers earlier in the morning foiled an attempt of militant to enter the camp by firing on them. Later, he said “as the search was going on the militants fired on forces from an abandoned building triggering gunfight.”
“Militants, carrying bags and armed with AK 47s rifles, were seen approaching the CRPF camp in Karan Nagar area of Srinagar. However, they were fired at by sentries after which they fled the spot,” Yadav said.
“Later a search operation was started around the camp during which contact with the hiding militants was established,” he said and added “the firing is going on.”
