Kashmiri wildlife researcher receives ‘Young Environmentalist Award’

SRINAGAR: Wildlife researcher from Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology, SKUAST-K, Sajad-ul-Akbar Wani has been awarded Life time Achievement award with Young Environmentalist Award at the recently concluded All India Conference on Sustainable Development of Ecosystem, Wildlife and Heritage Conservation for Human welfare at Ujjain MP.
The conference that was organised by Environment & Social Welfare Society, Khajuraho, MP India in association with Maharaja Chhatrasal Bundelkhand University, Chhatarpur, Madhya Pradesh & Bundelkhand Extended Region Chapter, Chitrakoot, National Academy of Sciences India also adjudged him also the Best Paper Presenter, an official handout read.
His paper on the ‘Status and Conservation of Waterfowl in Chatlam-Fushkoori Wetland Conservation Reserve, Pampore, Kashmir (Jammu & Kashmir)’ which he conducted under Dr Khursheed Ahmad from Centre for Mountain Wildlife Sciences, Faculty of Veterinary Sciences and Animal Husbandry, SKUAST-K was well acclaimed during the event, the handout read.
Over his continuous effort to raise awareness about the importance of birds around Pampore, area Wani was given the Young Environmentalist Award.
