Kashmir observes shutdown on Maqbool Bhat’s death anniversary

Srinagar: A complete shutdown is being observed across Kashmir valley on Sunday to mark the death anniversary of Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) founder Mohammad Maqbool Bhat.
Bhat was hanged and buried in Tihar jail, Delhi on Feb 11, 1984.
Shutdown call was given by Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL) comprised of Syed Ali Geelani, Miraiz Umar Farooq and Mohammad Yasin Malik.
All shops and business establishments are closed in Srinagar city and other major towns of the valley while public transport is off the roads.
