JAMMU: Minister for Rural Development & Panchayati Raj and Law & Justice, Abdul Haq on Saturday said government is committed to develop the rural areas and provide every basic amenity there at par with the urban areas.
He said this while inaugurating various lanes and drains constructed by the department in convergence with the funds provided by MLC Surinder Ambardar at Kalika Nagar Block Bhalwal at the cost of 8.50 lakh.
Speaking on the occasion, the minister said that present government is keen to resolve the problems of the people especially in the rural areas and many such schemes are being designed to help the poor and marginalised communities.
He said various revolutionary steps are being taken to develop rural infrastructure that will diminish the rural urban divide. While responding the grievances of the people, the minister assured early action on genuine demands and said the state government is taking keen interest in mitigating the problems faced by the public of the state. He said government is not only to provide basic amenities in rural areas but to improve quality of life and ensure integrated development of these areas.
Abdul Haq asked the people to come forward and get aware about the various welfare schemes of the government and get maximum benefit of them. The minister directed the official for repairing of roads and construction of culverts for drainage in the block.
