SRINAGAR: The J&K government on Thursday appointed senior IPS officer SP Pani as Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir Range. Pani replaces Munir Ahmad Khan, who has been appointed as ADGP security and home guards.
The state home department issued orders appointing Pani as the new police chief of Kashmir after the state cabinet approved his promotion as IGP alongwith two other officers.
Pani, an IPS officer of 2000 batch, has served at key positions including DIG South Kashmir range, SSP Kulgam and SSP Kathua.
Amit Kumar has been appointed as in-charge DIG South Kashmir range.
