Kashmir shuts on Afzal Guru’s fifth death anniversary

Srinagar: A complete shutdown is being observed in Kashmir valley Friday on the fifth death anniversary of parliament attack convict Mohammad Afzal Guru.
The shutdown call has been given by Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL), to press for the demand of return of Guru’s mortal remains.
Afzal was secretly hanged and buried in Tihar jail, Delhi on February 9, 2013.
All shops and business establishments are closed in Srinagar however private transport was plying on roads.
Reports of complete shutdown have also reached from all the district headquarters of the valley.
Authorities have imposed restrictions in some parts of Sopore, the native town of Afzal and Srinagar, to prevent protests.
