IUST condoles Arif Qazi’s death

Awantipora, A pall of gloom descended in the Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST) campus when the news of Dr. Arif Qazi leaving for the heavenly abode was received Tuesday morning in the campus.
The whole fraternity including all ranks from teaching and non-teaching led by the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Mushtaq A. Siddiqi reached to his residence at Sangeen Darwaza, Hawal Srinagar to attend his Nimaz-i-Jinaza and bid adieu to their beloved colleague, an IUST spokesperson said.
Dr. Arif Qazi an epitome of energy, talent and dedication was very popular among his colleagues. He had joined IUST as Assistant Professor in the year 2007 and was presently heading the Department of Arabic Language and Literature, IUST.
The spokesperson said that a condolence meeting under the chairmanship of Vice Chancellor was held at 12.30 pm at the IUST Campus Awantipora.
The Meeting was attended by various senior officials, faculty and staff members of the University.
During his address, Prof. Siddiqi expressed sympathies with the bereaved family and prayed to Almighty to grant peace to the departed soul and give courage to his family to bear the immense loss. He said that this is a huge loss to the IUST and expressed that IUST stands with the family of Dr. Arif in this hour of grief and assured all support to the bereaved family. The meeting ended with offering of Fateha and prayers for the departed soul. The varsity was closed after the condolence meeting.
