SRINAGAR: Expressing gratitude to Pakistan for its “unconditional and unflinching” support to the political movement for the right to self-determination of the people of Jammu and Kashmir, the UJC on Monday urged the Islamic Republic to rejuvenate its Kashmir policy in the interest of “suppressed” people of the valley.
A local news agency CNS quoted the United Jihad Council (UJC) chief Syed Salahuddin saying in his addressing to a high level meeting that “Pakistan should expose the false and negative propaganda of India through its media and diplomacy”.
“There is need for Pakistan to shun its traditional approach about Kashmir. It needs to come up with a robust Kashmir policy,” Salahuddin said and reiterated that Pakistan is a legitimate party to Kashmir issue which has always supported Kashmir cause morally, politically, diplomatically and socially.
UJC chief said Kashmir is a nuclear flashpoint that has already become a source of war between India and Pakistan and still at this point of time, the clouds of war are looming over the border.
He castigated the international community for maintaining “criminal silence” over the “atrocities” committed by India in Kashmir. “Due to this silence, the people of Kashmir are facing hardships and atrocious character of India has changed from bad to worse,” he said.
