Bill passed to establish J&K Higher Education Council

JAMMU: The House today passed “A Bill to Provide for the Establishment and Constitution of State Higher Education Council for enforcing, planning, monitoring, evaluation and quality assurance in Universities and other Higher Educational Institutions of the State and for the matters connected therewith and incidental thereto (L.A. Bill NO.1 of 2018)”.
The Bill was earlier, moved by the Minister for Education, Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari in Legislative Assembly.
Chowdhary Qamar Hussain supported the Bill while as Legislators, Mubarak Gul, Aijaz Ahmad Khan, G M Saroori, Pawan Kumar Gupta and Devender Rana also supported the bill however they asked the government for referring it to the Select Committee.
Later, on the assurance of the Minister, the House passed the bill with voice vote.
