Wildlife officials rescue wildcat in Kupwara

KUPWARA: The officials of wildlife department on Friday rescued a wild animal from Lawoosa village in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district.
Officials of the wildlife department said that locals of Lawoosa village informed them that they found a small cat on Friday and it looks like different from other cats. They said that soon after the information, the officials of the department reached the village where they recovered the animal from the locals and identified it as wild cat.
Block officer wildlife department Handwara Habibullah confirmed to Kashmir Reader that it was a wild cat and they will soon release the animal into the forest after proper medical check-up.
